German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has applauded NATO's move not to admit Ukraine and Georgia into the alliance last year. "That was the correct decision, after very long negotiations within NATO about that issue", Scholz told the German TV channelZDF, in an apparent nod to the alliance's summit in June 2021. At the time, NATO endorsed Ukraine's and Georgia's right to join in principle, but refused to give a timeframe for accession, insisting that both former Soviet republics should undergo "reforms" before their membership could happen. The House of Representatives has approved a bill that will remove the long-standing dichotomy between BSC and Higher National Diploma in employment. The House, in a committee of the whole, considered the report and approved the recommendation, awaiting third reading and final passage. The bill stipulates a fine of N1 million for anybody or institution in the country to go against the provisions of the law. The dichotomy between first degree and HND has been on the front burner of national discourse for a long time especially when it comes to employment. In a joint statement, 10 Chinese government agencies vowed to work closely to maintain a “high pressure” crackdown on trading of cryptocurrencies in the nation. The People’s Bank of China separately ordered internet, financial and payment companies from facilitating cryptocurrency trading on their platforms. The central bank said cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Tether, cannot be circulated in the market as they are not fiat currency.
