BBNaija: Meet ‘Shine ya Eye housemates

Season six of the Big Brother Naija reality show premiered on Saturday with 10 housemates from different parts of the country contesting for the grand prize.

This winner of this year’s edition titled ‘Shine ya Eye’ will walk away with N90 million worth of prizes.

The show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu also announced that Season 6 will run for a period of 10-weeks

He had earlier said viewers in the UK for the first time ever can now watch BBNaija live on Showmax rather than youtube.

Also, there would be no SMS voting for season 6 housemates.

Below are the housemates:

1. Boma Akpore- Model and a former footballer

2. Saga Adeolu From Lagos State. 28-years old and an Engineer.

3. Yousef- 29-years old a teacher and model from Jos State.

4. Pere- A drama King and into real estate.

5. Whitemoney- Businessman.

6. Niyi-34-years old, married and from Oyo State.

7. Yerins- Medical Doctor, 27, From Bayelsa State.

8. Jaypaul- 28-years old, Cross Rivers State

9. Emmanuel- 24-years old from Akwa-Ibom.

He loves travelling, driving fast cars, reading and doesn’t like hatred and envy. He loves working out and he is competitive.

10. Sammie—Kaduna, a student from ABU Zaria.

11. Cross- A 31yrs Adventurous and forgiving personality. He loves clubbing. He loves pretty women. He likes to see ladies fight for him.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Monday, confirmed the crash of an Alpha Jet aircraft in Zamfara. The aircraft was returning from air interdiction between the boundaries of Zamfara and Kaduna States. Varsity workers begin nationwide strike Feb 5

Non-teaching staff in universities will commence a nationwide strike from February 15, 2021 over the Federal Government’s handling of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System(IPPIS), sharing formula of the N40 billion earned academic allowances and non-payment of arrears of the new minimum wage. The workers, under the Joint Action Committee, which is made up of Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) had last week embarked on a three- day protest over government’s failure to honour the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed with the unions on 20th October, 2020. The committee said other contentious issues that informed the decision to embark on a nationwide industrial action include inconsistencies in IPPIS payment and the delay in the renegotiation of the FGN/ ASUU/SSANU 2009 Agreement. Gas explosion, truck, bandits kill 24 in Delta, Ondo, Kaduna PunchJan 24, 2021

At least 24 persons were killed in a gas explosion, road crash and a bandit attack in Delta, Ondo and Kaduna states respectively. Ten persons reportedly died on Friday night in Agbor, the headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State after a gas plant went up in flames, destroying several buildings, vehicles and leaving many persons with serious injuries. Eyewitnesses told Sunday PUNCH that a gas tanker had arrived at the Osadebe Gas Plant along the expressway around 6pm. One of them, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said instead of waiting for hours to allow the vehicle and the content to cool off, they started discharging it immediately. He said, “In the process, the tanker went up in flames and over seven buildings around the plant were burnt down, more than 10 people died while many were injured. “They rushed the injured victims to the Central Hospital, Agbor, but there was nothing on the ground to attend to victims. It is a shame on the government.
