JUST-IN: Popular Nollywood Actress, Rachael Oniga Is Dead

Reports just filtered in that popular Nollywood actress, Racheal Oniga, is dead.

The news is coming at a time the movie industry is grappling with mixed issues and after mourning the death of another entertainer, Sound Sultan, who passed on early this month.

The cause of Oniga’s death was unknown at the time of this report.

Aisha Slams FG, CBN Over Banning Of Cryptocurrency

NewsOne Nigeria   had reported earlier that the  Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) directed banks to close accounts of persons or entities involved in cryptocurrency  transactions within their systems. Sign death warrants to decongest prisons, Aregbesola urges govs

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, on Friday, urged state governors to sign the death warrants of the 3,008 condemned criminals waiting for execution, especially those whose appeals had been exhausted and were not mounting challenges to their convictions, as part of measures to decongest prisons nationwide. Aregbesola, who spoke at the inaugurating of the Osun State Command headquarters complex of the Nigeria Correctional Service in Osogbo, stressed the need to bring to closure the cases involving the inmates. The minister enumerated three avenues to decongest prisons, saying governors could accelerate the wheel of justice, as many inmates had been in custody for a period longer than the maximum sentence their alleged offences carry, which he described as a miscarriage of justice.
